During my recent trip to Jersey, Channel Islands I was lucky to visit a wonderful beach cafe located on St Ouens beach, called Le Braye Cafe. On our second day in Jersey my family and I had a light lunch there, and on our last day – a lovely full English breakfast. At first glance the cafe looked unassuming but surprised me with its charming, rustic decor, warm atmosphere, great service and delicious food. I quickly found out how popular this place was around lunch time. Since all the tables inside were occupied, we had no choice but to sit on the front patio (there are two: front and side). Guess what? we didn’t mind…listening to the sound of the ocean waves and enjoying the sunny October day was enough to make us happy with the available bench seating. Sitting reservation is available, so keep that in mind if you decide to visit this gem for lunch or dinner. The food was very fresh, tasty and nicely presented. There was something for everyone on the menu: breakfast selection, fish and seafood, meat and burgers, vegetarian options, kids’ meals, appetizers, salads, desserts, cakes and ice cream, hot, cold and alcoholic beverages. I ended up having a Homemade Hummus and Flatbread…and delicious real cream Jersey ice cream…Yummy!
On our second visit, there were tables available inside but since the weather was gorgeous, we chose a table on the side patio overlooking the ocean…one of the best breakfast ever considering the view and the food. Enjoying the sunny morning, The Lifesaver breakfast and watching people surfing was truly amazing.
After a very flavorful breakfast I decided to go for a long walk on the beach. Believe me, I didn’t want to leave this place.
