Recently I had a chance to have a fabulous meal at the Bellagio Restaurant & Wine Bar in St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands. This charming Italian restaurant amazed me with the quality of dishes and the food presentation. Since there were eight of us in our party, we decided to make a dinner reservation, which turned out to be a good decision since the sitting space was limited.
Once we entered the building, we were warmly greeted by the barman and directed upstairs to the small but cozy restaurant. At the upper level, we were greeted by the waiter – Vittorio, who as we found out, was absolutely amazing (attentive, efficient, professional and pleasant). Most of us decided to go for the Set Menu with a choice of appetizer, main course and dessert. I chose King Prawns (shrimp) with white wine, garlic and chili as my appetizer.Fillet of veal sauteed with Marsala wine and mushrooms, served with vegetables and saute potatoes, for my main course, and ice cream made from real Jersey cream for dessert. To make things even better, I was treated to one of the specialty cocktails.
Each course was beautifully presented, very tasty and creative. Chef Marcus did an excellent job with his creations and Vittorio with service. The atmosphere was great, we all spent a memorable evening and felt welcomed as customers.
I strongly recommend this restaurant to all the visitors and residents of the island.
